Scenic cycling routes in the Zadar region: 3000 km for cycling enthusiasts
The long jagged coastline, an incredible archipelago, an interesting and authentic inland with breathtaking landscapes like Paklenica, three rivers’ canyons, and the magical “moon-like” surface of Pag island, are just a small part of what the region has to offer! Leave the historic center of Zadar and its narrow streets, cross the bridge that connects the heart of the city, and head north along the coast to Zaton, Nin, the island of Vir, Starigrad, and the island of Pag, enjoying wonderful and colorful landscapes. In no time, you’ll see the westernmost part of Dalmatia’s inland near Privlaka, the rugged “lunar” surface of Pag, the rocky hills of Vir, the steep trails of Paklenica National Park, and many other enchanting places. The entire Paklenica Riviera is an extraordinary place for both scenic cycling and off-road mountain biking! If your journey takes you south, towards Bibinje, Sukošan, Biograd, Pakoštane, and the Vrana Nature Park, you’ll ride slightly less challenging trails, getting closer to the beautiful seaside towns. If you prefer cycling on the islands, you can tackle the picturesque trails of Pašman and Ugljan or take the ferry to the incredible island of Dugi Otok, which you can explore freely.
